This Addendum to the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is an evaluation of the potential environmental, socio-economic and natural impacts of the proposed changes to the airport expansion and modernisation project initiated by GMR Group. The project covers the construction of a temporary jetty for loading and unloading of material for the coastal protection and construction. This is to comply with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulation and agreement which requires the runway shoulders to be extended up to 150 m from the centre line of runway. In this regard both sides of the runway strip need to be reclaimed and protected.
