EIA for Proposed Development of New Water Villas and Over Water Restaurant at Hudhuranfushi, North Male Atoll.

Non Technical Summary

 

This report discusses the findings of an environmental impact study undertaken
by Water Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for the proposed development of over water structures
and a staff quarter on land.

Hudhuranfushi is formed on the eastern rim of north Male’ Atoll sharing the
reef with two other islands, one of which is the Atoll Capital, Thulusdhoo. In April
2012, the  size of the island was measured as 18,4560 m2
or approximately 18hectares.


The proposed project consists of two major components, namely over water
development and development on land. Over water development consists of
constructing a new set of water villas and an over water restaurant while the
development on the island includes construction of a staff quarter. Following are the
